Running out of IP addresses?
The world is running out of IP addresses, so I heard.. Whats the solution? add more numbers of course.. the standard is 4 octets, the new system will be double that.. meaning 64-bit rather than 32-bit. I also heard they will be switching to Hex rather than decimal.. so we will be looking at 5EA.6BB.55E.AA3 rather than 192.168.1.1.. this is what Ive heard around.. ill have to look more into it.. let me know your thoughts.

competition within the IT industry.
It appears to me as though competition is pretty tough within the IT industry, everyone fighting over customers.. while trying to keep that small business friendly atmosphere and image.. You cant succeed with any business anymore if you really act that way..as I have found out. Never the less.. I don't adopt the expansionist mentality when it comes to business.. as some local shops do... just far too big of a head for what they are.

dual core or dual chip?
Alot of people wonder what is better dual core or dual chip. The answer isnt a simple one.. If you are going with intel, dual chips are actually better, as they use the bus to communicate between cores. However if you are using AMD it has been shown the performance is about the same because the cores can communicate directly.
now I know most people are going into 6+ core processors these days, however.. keep in mind, AMD makes as good or better chips for less.. not that the I7 and any thing to be messed with. I have seen a setup with 2 I7 cores, thats some crazy power, then there is the 50 core processor that intel tested, their conclusion, anything over 16 cores is impractical.. so the best possible setup you could have is 2 16 core, 32 cores.. good luck getting your hands on that (as far as I know its not available yet..give it a week or so )
Show me some love.

The New Xbox 360
Whats so new about the new Xbox 360? Not much honestly, its the Microsoft equivalent of the PS3 slim. If you already own a 360, no reason to run out and buy one, but if your buying one anyway why not go new?
"New" Features
- Built in WIFI
- 250 GB Hard drive standard
- Slimmer design
- its shiny
- comes "Kinect" ready
Basically it allows you to play games by using a camera rather than using a controller.. kinda like wii, if you wanna know more check it out at http://www.xbox.com/en-US/kinect/

Electronic cigarettes, good or bad?
So with all the smoking bans and talk about the health effects of smoking lately the E-Cigarette has emerged. Many questions follow this such as which should I choose? Are they really better for me? Here is what I've learned from my research.
Are they better for me?
Well, I can't say they're good for you, but better..? you do the math. No carcinogens, just nicotine, water and flavorings. All you are inhaling from what I gathered is an atomized water/nicotine vapor which looks just like smoke. I can honestly tell you as a former smoker, I can breath a lot better now that I'm on the vapor.
What technology is out there?
From my experience there is a ton of different brands out there, theres three main types. Type one you have to put drops into the "filter" each time you use it, and replace the atomizer, type 2 you must replace both the atomizer and filter each time it runs out, and the latest technology which you replace the self-contained filter/atomizer in one step. I use the fifty-one duo, which uses this latest technology. I get about 2 packs per cartridge and when its empty, I just simply unscrew it and put a new one on.
Is it cheaper?
Yes, I pay $15 per pack which contains 5 cartridges, which if you break it down is $3/cartridge or $1.50/pack. In Michigan it's nearly $7 a pack.. thats a lot of savings...Other brands are right around the same cost, some are more expensive over all.
How do I choose?
Honestly, read the reviews if your going to buy online, however I would buy in person if at all possible, that way you can try it before you buy it. Some will simulate real smoking quite well, some not so much. I would review them all.. however I don't have the time to go over all of them, so instead, post your experience!
Thanks,

Iphone 4 and Droid X.. What should I get?
Well my fellow tech heads, July is finally upon us and it marks the release of both Droid X and the Iphone 4. It felt only right to give you a run down of both, so here we go!
Iphone 4
Apple rolled out the 3.5 in high resolution screen (960X640), 1GHz A4 processor (just like the Ipad), a maximum of 32 Gb of storage, 5mp camera with dual LED flash, as well as a front camera for Ichat. I would say the video chat will be the leading benefit of the iphone 4 over the Droid.
Droid X
Motorola is rolling out the 4.5 in screen with slightly worse resolution, the same TI processor ramped up to 1 GHz, 8mp rear camera, a maximum of 40Gb of storage, and of course the Android OS.
The bottom line..
Both of them in my opinion are fairly matched, its all a matter of your preference as far as carrier (Iphone is ATT, Droid is Verizon exclusive), which OS you prefer, and if you would like to engage in video chat. Leave your thoughts.
Thank You,
